It's easy to sign up to PLSclear to manage permissions requests for your titles and access our global permissions customers. The service is open to publishers of all sizes and sectors including book, journal and magazine publishers worldwide.
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a call to discuss signing up or to request an agreement.
What does it cost to sign up?
There are no upfront costs to use PLSclear and we don't charge any annual subscriptions or set up fees to publishers opted in. Instead, we take a 12% handling fee off paid for requests only. To sign up, we simply require a signed agreement and a title list (if you are not already opted into PLS for collective licensing.)
How does PLSclear benefit publishers?
PLSclear licensing programmes - Publishers add pricing into the system and even fully automate their licensing if they choose. Using the licensing programmes is also completely optional so you can set up your pricing when you're ready.
Quick licence creation - Publishers opted into PLS Permissions do not need to upload their own licence documents to PLSclear. PLSclear creates licence documents for you with just a few clicks.
Standard licence templates - PLSclear provides standard licence templates for free, fee-payable, and STM qualifying requests so you don't need to draft your own terms and conditions or upload any files to the system.
Dedicated permissions inbox - Goodbye cluttered inbox, hello Request Manager. The Request Manager inbox keeps all your requests in one place. Correspondence between you and the requestor are held against each request so you aren't sifting through follow up emails for request details.
Filtered requests - Requests are only delivered to your inbox if the title is linked to your account so you won't receive requests for titles published elsewhere.
Credit card payments - Requestors can pay for their request by credit for publishers opted into PLS Permissions, making it easy to charge for smaller amounts of content without the burden of raising invoices.
Credit control provided by PLS - PLS provides credit control for all requests in PLSclear for publishers opted into PLS Permissions.
Cloud-based - No need to install or host software. Access your permissions anywhere at any time from your browser.
Easy opt in - If you are already signed up to PLS for collective licensing services, your titles are already available in the system. You can simply add a link to PLSclear to your website and start using PLSclear right away.
PLSclear help desk support - Support is available from the PLSclear help desk team for you and your requestors.
Access to a global permissions market - In 2020, PLSclear handled requests from over 160 countries and 80% of traffic to the PLSclear platform is from outside of the UK, making it a truly global permissions platform for requesting publishers' content.
